Edmonton cops looking for a man wanted in connection with gunplay at Ethiopian-Canadian Community Association

Wanted, Luqman Jama Osman, 24 Osman is described as a black male, 6’3″ tall, medium build, with beard/goatee, and scar on his neck. The Edmonton Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in the non-injury shooting that occurred Jan. 1, 2014 at the Ethiopian-Canadian Community Association. Police are asking for public help to find a man wanted in connection with gunplay at the crowed Ethiopian-Canadian Community Association on New Year’s Day.

Canada-wide warrants have been issued for Luqman Jama Osman, 24, for numerous firearms related offences. He should be considered armed and dangerous and not approached.

The 5 a.m. gunfire followed an argument at the building near 105 Avenue and 115 Street. Officers responded to reports of gunshots both inside and outside of the building.

Investigators say that an argument had broken out between several people outside the building before the shots were fired.

There were no injuries.

Police said there were hundreds of people in attendance throughout the night and officers previously asked the public for any more information.

Osman is about six foot three. He has a scar on his neck.
