ADDIS ABABA – Eight passengers were killed and dozens injured on Sunday when a city bus plunged into a deep ravine off the Zenebework Bridge. Police said the death toll may rise because most of the injured were in critical conditions. The driver was among the critically injured.
The bus carrying 113 passengers was on its way from Kore to Merkato when it plunged off a bridge into a 15-meter deep ravine.
Most of the victims were small handicraftsmen who were on their way to sell their products at Merkato, the biggest open air market in Africa.
