The Ethiopian Government has secured a 50-million-dollar grant from Poland to mechanise its agriculture systems for higher production.
The government said on Monday in Addis Ababa that the fund would be utilised in various projects, to increase food production and its Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
It said the funds would specifically finance the delivery of modern agricultural input and machinery from Poland for use by country’s farmers.
Ethiopia’s Finance and Economic Development Minister Sufian Ahmed, while signing the agreement, said the funds would support and augment agricultural modernisation activities.
On his part, Polish Ambassador to Ethiopia Jacek Jankowski said at the occasion, that the agreement was part of his country’s effort to strengthen cooperation with Ethiopia.
