The General Manager, Ethiopian Airline Nigeria, Mr Solomon Yadeta, on Tuesday said the airline would soon extend its operations to Kano State.
Yadeta made this known at the Ethiopian Airline’s stakeholders meeting in Abuja.
He said that the airline was operating in three places in Nigeria.
They are Abuja, Lagos and Enugu.
“The purpose of the meeting is to let our travel partners know that we are going to operate in Kano.
“The purpose is also to bring all our travel agencies together to let them know what we are doing and what we are planning to do in future.
“And to let them know new services we are giving in Nigeria and bring them up to date on our services in Nigeria,” he said.
Yadeta said the airline was improving its service to tackle issue of missing of baggage.
“We have low average of missing baggage and we are improving our service with baggage,” he said.
Yadeta expressed the airline’s commitment to improving its services and make travel agencies as partners.
According to him, the airline will continue to give travel agencies additional commission and incentives to enable them to tell their customers the advantages of the airline.
The Managing Director, Topaz Travels and Tours Ltd., Mrs Susan Akporiaye, who said the travel agencies were losing clients to online booking, urged the airline operators to stop removing the commissions given to agencies.
Akporiaye said that when the agencies asked their clients to pay service charge, they would prefer to book online.
“This is not helping our business because it is through this commission that we pay our staff and rent,” she said.
Another travel agent, Mr kabir Maiwada, urged the Ethiopian airline to device means to solve the issue of missing baggage.
