Bishaw arrived in the country on Thursday as a special guest for the launching of the new pitches for the academy in Akrade.

His departure from Addis Ababa sparked rumours that he is on the verge of being signed on by a Ghanaian club but it has emerged he was only on a visit.

His visit, it is believed, could a spark a relationship where some excellent youngsters at the Right to Dream Academy could be brought to Ghana for further training.

Bishaw, who turned Ethiopia from also-rans to a strong African side, is confident African countries will excel at the World Cup and singled out Ivory for success.

“We have a very strong team that is capable of doing very well in the upcoming world cup, African players are playing well in the European league,” Bishaw said.

“African players train and play together in Europe, so there is no much difference. That is why I am convinced African countries will do well at the competition.

“Anytime am asked about the chances of Africa at the World Cup, I tell them yes we can make it. Ghana did it at the 2010 World Cup and I expect another team to go far this time around.

“I am sure Cote D’ Ivoire stand a chance of making the continent proud this time around,” he added.
